Joe Doerksen Released From the UFC
The UFC continues it’s crusade to purge the UFC ranks, and Joe Doerksen was the next victim. Joe Doerksen made the announcement on Sportsnet.ca. I use the word “crusade” because many times when groups think they are on a crusade for the good and betterment of their people they actually cause more harm than not.
Doerksen has a 39-12 over all record with a 1-5 record in the UFC. He is a veteran fighter that has a good amount of experience behind him, and the UFC releases him because he does not have an impressive record inside the Octagon.
Let’s see who his losses have been to:
Joe Riggs, Matt Lindland, Nathan Marquardt, and Jason Macdonald are 4 of his 5 losses. Looks like Doerksen is not avoiding top competition to me, quite the opposite in fact. Why the release UFC? I guess they feel since they have released him 2 other times this time would be no different.
I do not know but maybe the UFC can find someone that’s 4-5 in the UFC put him on the “The Ultimate Fighter” and give him a title shot. Oh wait that’s been done…
Who will be next in this great crusade of thinning the ranks?
